House of Faith depends so much on our stellar team of volunteers! We cannot do anything we do without the amazing men, women, and youth who come alongside to serve Jesus with us in so many ways. There is a place at House of Faith for anyone to get plugged in! The backbone of our volunteer team is our weekly volunteers, and we wanted to introduce you to some of them. Below, three of our valued Backyard Bible Club volunteers share their thoughts.
“I started volunteering with House of Faith in February 2025 after I saw a notice in our church bulletin that House of Faith Backyard Bible Club needed volunteers.
At Backyard Bible Club, I provide supervision on the playground, serve snacks, teach Bible verses, sit next to 'wigglers' during story time, and sometimes teach the Bible lesson. I also give and receive hugs, listen to problems, and try to show the love of Jesus to everyone.
Volunteering with House of Faith is important to me because I am being obedient to Jesus Christ. My desire is for these little ones to know Jesus and the joy and comfort of walking with Him each day.” --Jan
“I’ve been volunteering at House of Faith for 10+ years. I had been feeling a tug by the Holy Spirit urging me to "do something!”, ending in prayer on a Saturday night. The next morning at church, an announcement was made requesting volunteers for House of Faith. That was my cue!
My occupation is a Nurse, so I perform in that role when needed at House of Faith camps. My role as a BBC volunteer is simple: I drive a van for transportation home, interact and play with the children, and look over them while we are responsible for them. I facilitate the knowledge of Jesus and His love for them and their families, and pray with them.
Through ministering to children, House of Faith also impacts their families which, in turn, impacts the whole community. House of Faith fills a space in the community with Christ, and I'm certain without this presence the community would falter.” --Mark
“I started going to House of Faith in 5th grade when I heard about it from a friend. I started volunteering in 2019 as a youth because of the impact that was created in my life.
At club I help teach the kids our memory verses for the unit in ways that help them remember it.
I have stayed volunteering at House of Faith because of the impact it made on my life as a kid and youth. I hope to make the same impact on the kids that House of Faith has made in my life.” --SheaLa
