Adventures of Tiny Jesus

This semester we have been led by the Lord to teach about who Jesus is for the entire Spring semester. Each week, students are learning about who Jesus is while engaging with creative visuals to bring the Bible to life.

We have been going on “Adventures with Tiny Jesus” using 3D printed scenes to encourage students to engage with Bible stories such as: Jesus healing the paralyzed man, Jesus’ baptism, Jesus comforting the woman with the blood issue, and many more!

When we started dreaming about this unit, we felt passionate about putting “Adventure Booklets” in the hands of each of our students. We wanted them to be able to take what they were learning and hearing at Backyard Bible Club and engage with it at home.

So, we created booklets with a cartoon version of the scene from the week, and summarized story points! We also gave each student their own “Tiny Jesus” so that they could continue to play out the stories at home!

Watching the students’ faces light up with excitement when they saw their very own “Tiny Jesus” has been so rewarding! In fact, I even had several students bring their “Tiny Jesus” back to club each week so they can take Him on adventures on the playground with their friends, and even during lesson time!

We believe that teaching the students that Jesus is everywhere and wants to be a part of everything we do is key to their foundation of understanding who Jesus is. We believe that as they play with their “Tiny Jesus” figure, they will remember that Jesus is Healer, Comforter, Compassionate, and so many other things we have taught over the semester.

We will continue to give them their own adventure booklets for the remainder of the semester! It is truly an adventure when we choose to go through life with JESUS!
