This year, House of Faith celebrated our 20th year of taking families to the H. E. Butt Foundation for family camp and we had a GREAT time! For months prior to camp, our staff not only prayed for the hearts of our families, but we also prayed for great weather. And the LORD heard our prayers for both! The weather was perfect and families were able to canoe, hike, fish, and do other things together while enjoying the beauty of His creation. Families also gathered to worship together. It is always such a beautiful sight to see hands raised and voices lifted to our God in worship and adoration of Him. After a time of worship, the children were dismissed to their age-appropriate teaching classes to learn, and the adults also went to their small group sessions to study the Word of God together. Our theme verses were Hebrews 12:1-2 and our focus was keeping our eyes on Jesus, throwing off sins and other things that distract us from having strong, healthy, happy families, and running with perseverance—even when it is tough! I love teaching adults because I really get to pour into them and encourage them, while reminding them that they do not run alone. Jesus is both, at the finish line, and running alongside us cheering us on as we journey through this life.
Join us in praying for our families. Many of them are broken and struggling, but we know that JESUS is the answer to our every need and that HE is the ONLY one who can heal the brokenhearted and bind up their wounds. We are praying that our families will take seriously the things they were taught and that they will begin to see the fruit of their obedience. Pray with us that they will KEEP their EYES on the PRIZE and run with endurance!
